FX Announces FXX As Its Clone Network Set To Launch In September: 'Always Sunny In Philadelphia' And 'The League' Moving To The New Network

FX is scheduled to launch its sister network in September, and it's going to be called FXX.

The announcement came Thursday in New York City, the Los Angeles Times reported.

FXX is going to be a clone of FX and should be available in 70 million homes.

"We are embarking on an incredibly ambitious ramp-up of program development and production required to sustain these networks," said FX President John Landgraf, who unveiled FXX to advertisers in New York City on Thursday morning.

The News Corp. network will move some of its hit shows, which includes "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "The League" and "Legit" to the new the newer network. Joining those shows will be"Totally Biased With W. Kamu Bell," which will expand from a weekly show to a nightly show on FXX, the Times reported.

FXX seems to going in the direction of comedy as FX executives announced two other original comedies will debut in during the network's first year and six more for the second year. The channel will aim for adults between the ages of 18-34.

Fox Sports 1 is another cable network that News Corp. announced will be debuting one month prior to the planned September 2 release date of FXX.

FX executives have been telling pay-TV distributors that it is considering converting the Fox Soccer Channel into FXX.
