Lil Wayne: Epilepsy Caused Recent Seizures, Clearing Up Rumors in LA Radio Station [AUDIO]

Rapper Lil Wayne called in Los Angeles radio station on Thursday to clear up addition rumors and explain about the recent series of seizures that had him hospitalized multiple times even prompting speculation he was near death.

Wayne discussed with DJ Felli Fel about various topics, including his most recent hospitalization on March 12. Various reports initially stated he was preparing his last rites and was overdosed on codeine. Some suggested his seizures were a result of a syrup addiction, but now he finally told his side of the story.

"The bad news is I'm an epileptic, I'm prone to seizures," Wayne told Power 106 Thursday.

"This isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures; y'all just never hear about it. This time it got real bad because I got three of 'em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent. Basically, I could've died soon. That's why it was so serious.

"The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself. That's typical me, though," he continued.

The 30-year-old rapper mentioned about TMZ's report of their dramatic account of the incident.

"I can't be upset at that. I get upset at my kids when they do things that I tell 'em not to do; I can't get upset at TMZ for doing what they do," he said with a slight chuckle. "The truth isn't good enough for them, so they gotta twist everything up," he mentioned.

Grammy winner released his 10th album I Am Not a Human Being II on March 26 and will embark on a 40-city tour in July with rappers T.I. and Future.
