Cory Monteith Checks Into Rehab For Substance Abuse: 'Glee' Star Is Supported By Co-Star And Girlfriend Lee Michele [VIDEO]

Cory Monteith reportedly checked into rehab Sunday in L.A.

People magazine reported Sunday that the "Glee" star "voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction," a rep for Moneith told the magazine, adding that the actor asks for "respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery."

Monteith, 30, once admitted that he checked into rehab for substance abuse when he was 19 also.

"I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this," currenty girlfriend and co-star on "Glee," Lee Michele told People. "I am grateful and proud he made this decision."

The two also share their love together on screen for the hit FOX show. When the two went public with their relationship in 2011, Michele told People her infatuation with Monteith.

"He really, really inspires me, and he motivates me and I think he's just so talented," she said.

On "Glee," Monteith plays the role of Finn Hudson. Hudson is the star quarterback at the high school, who also is a member of the glee club. During the four seasons of the hit-show, Hudson would have to battle with love along with the head cheerleader or fellow member of the glee club, played Michele.
