CBS Broken Leg Replay Halted: Network Reuses to Replay Kevin Ware's Gruesome Leg Injury [VIDEO]

CBS won't replay footage of Louisville Kevin Ware's gruesome leg injury during Sunday's Midwest Regional final against Duke. The network after two initial replays said they would not replay the footage because of its graphic nature.

Ware suffered the injury during a televised game, shocking fellow teammates as his right leg bent in such an awkward and frightening angle.

CBS commentator Clark Kellogg described the injury as "gruesome."

"If you can bear to watch it, take a look, but it's a gruesome-looking injury," Kellogg said.

CBS is applauded for their decision of refusing to air replays of Ware's injury, even though others are airing the footage and widely available online. Even following the immediate aftermath of the injury the network never showed a close-up of the injury.

Instead focused on the reaction of teammates, as well as Duke players and coaches, emotional reaction of Ware's injury.

CBS only shot a close-up of medial officials working on Ware, showing the player only from the face up.

"We did not zoom in on the injury when he was taken off," CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus said. "We did not try to highlight it. I think we did the right thing."

Ware is reported to have gone through a successful surgery to repair the compound fracture Sunday night. He is expected to say in Indianapolis until at least Tuesday, and Louisville Cardinals are hopeful that he'll be on the bench during their Final Four game against Wichita State Shockers on April 6.
