6-Year-Old Drummer, Avery Molek Takes on Van Halen Classic, YouTube Hit [VIDEO]

A 6-year-old drummer proved to be a prodigy playing Van Halen's 1984 classic, "Hot For Teacher."

Avery Molek has become a YouTube star with his own tour schedule, after he was seen playing the classic like a pro without missing a beat. The tiny kid has been playing the drums since he was four and in two years have played over 15 shows extending four different states.

"When he was 2 we did what every parent does, you go to Toys R' Us and buy your child an instrument," father, Ed Molek told ABC News. "We bought him drums and a guitar and he gravitated to the drums."

"It wasn't long before he started getting the feel of the beats of songs and then he just kept progressing," he said. "Just before he turned 4, he played "Mississippi Queen" almost perfectly. I asked him how and he said, 'Just by listening to it.'"

The Moleks, who have no musical background, only sent their son to a weekly 30-minute lesson with a local drum teacher after discovering his natural talent.

Ed Molek began videotaping his son, so that he will play the song till the end.

"The discipline just wasn't there yet because he was so young," Molek said, "Once he knew he was being recorded, he was more methodical in playing from beginning to end."

Molek's Facebook states he has also embarked on a tour in his home state of Pennsylvania.

The videos also caught the attention of KISS drummer Eric Singer as he posted them on the band's Facebook page and website and even became a mentor to Avery via email.
