LaBeouf Baldwin Beef Revealed On 'Late Show With David Letterman': Shia LaBeouf Says He And Alec Baldwin “Had Tension As Men”

Shia LaBeouf addressed the beef between him and his former Orphans co-star Alec Baldwin on the Late Show's Monday night episode.

LaBeouf's beef with Baldwin allegedly got him kicked out of Orphans, a Broadway play. In February, LaBeouf was dismissed from the production a week into rehearsals for what the Orphans PR team described as "creative differences."

On Monday, April 1, Shia LaBeouf appeared on the Late Show With David Letterman. He described his beef with 54-year-old Alec Baldwin, saying, "We had tension as men. Not as artists, but as men. I think in a room, that became a hard thing to deal with, and I think that when you have tension as men, that's tough 'til July."

Labeouf explained what may have led to the tension between him and Baldwin, "I'm pretty passionate and impulsive, and he's a very passionate individual as well and I think that impulsiveness and passion make for some fireworks."

Letterman suggested a different cause to the 26-year-old LaBeouf's dismissal from Orphans. He said, "Alec went to the producers and said, 'I can't take it another day, fire him.'"

LaBeouf didn't deny Letterman's comment, saying, "I think that might have been what happened."

When Letterman asked why, after all the drama between LaBeouf and the cast (including posting private emails from the cast of the play on Twitter), LaBeouf attended the show and sat in the front row, LaBeouf explained, "It was the only ticket I could get actually. ...I've been part of the play for three years, and I showed up as a fan."

"[Baldwin's] a good dude, and the show is terrific. I've got nothing bad to say," LaBeouf added.

When asked if LaBeouf would consider working with Baldwin in the future after reconciliation, he answered, "I think that'd be a tough one to pull off. I mean I'm all for it."

LaBeouf added to the camera, "Alec, I think you're awesome. That's it."

LaBeouf went on the show to promote The Company You Keep, in which he stars alongside Robert Redford. The film will hit theaters on Friday.
