Michael Jackson's Mother And Three Of His Children Sue AEG Live For $40 Billion, Blaming The Company The Hiring That Lead To The Singer's Death

The jury selection is set for Tuesday in L.A. in the lawsuit of Michael Jackson's mother against tour promoter AEG Live.

Katherine Jackson sued the company for its negligence when it hired Dr. Conrad Murray to oversee her son's medical care. Along with the king of pop's three children, Jackson's mother is suing AEG Live for $40 billion.

Michael Jackson died at 50-years-old from an overdose of Propofol, which Murray allegedly used on Jackson for medical procedures.

AEG Live was putting together a tour that was headlined by Michael Jackson.

Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death in 2009 and was sentenced in November 2011 to four years in the Los Angeles County men's jail, CBS reported.  He allegedly administered propofol, which is an anesthetic.

Katherine Jackson and the three children allege AEG Live didn't research enough about Murray before hiring him. They alleged the company didn't notice the red flags showing that the doctor was in debt and was not a board-certified cardiologist.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos found that various actions taken by AEG Live, including discussions to pay Murray $150,000 a month, could suggest there was a possible contract or agreement with the doctor, CBS reported. AEG Lives alleges that the these allegations were false.

According to TMZ, Jackson had 19 aliases to score Rx drugs from various doctors. Jackson would find professionals who would open their surgery centers to give him Propofol.  Doctors and dentist who helped administer these surgeries for the musician would justify the drug by saying they needed to put him under for minor procedures, such as acne removal.
