Two Men Found Guilty In Murder Plot Of British Singer Joss Stone: Where Do Prince William And Kate Middleton Fit In This? [VIDEO]

A British jury convicted two men on Wednesday of plotting to rob and kill British soul singer Joss Stone.

Junior Bradshaw, 32, and Kevin Liverpool, 35, were found guilty at Exeter Crown Court on alleged charges of conspiracy to murder, to cause grievous bodily harm and to rob the singer, the Associated Press reported. They had denied the charges.

"You intended to rob her and kill her (Stone) and dump her body in the river, according to your words, and then leave the country with your accomplice Junior Bradshaw," Judge Francis Gilbert said in sentencing of Liverpool, who was given a life sentence and to serve a minimum of 10 years and eight months in prison.

Bradshaw's sentencing will come at a later date.

"I am relieved the trial is now over and that these men are no longer in a position to cause harm to anyone," Joss Stone said in a statement.

Stone is a British music star who won a Grammy Award in 2007 for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Groups with Vocals. She's been nominated for four other Grammys.

It hasn't been revealed to exactly why Liverpool and Bradshaw allegedly wanted to kill Stone, but a note was found that was written by the two, which said they didn't approve of Stone being invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding.

Bradshaw and Liverpool were arrested in June 2011 close to Stone's home in southwestern England after suspicious neighbors reported them to the police, the AP reported. They never reached her home in Devon.

Prosecutors said the pair set off from their home in Manchester to Stone's home armed with a samurai sword, knives, a hammer, black bags and gloves. On the way to their destination, they were involved in a crash, got lost and even asked somebody for directions to the singer's home.

Handwritten notes found in their car made reference to "decapitate." Another read "Jocelyn RIP" and a further note said: "Once Jocelyn's dead ... find a river to dump her," according to prosecutors.

Besides singing, Joss Stone has made appearances on movies, videogames and T.V. shows, including "American Dad" and "The Tudors."
