Tom Cruise Hopes To See Aliens During Space Flight On Virgin Galactic

Tom Cruise hopes that he'll meet some aliens in the future, since he is thinking about buying a $200,000 space tourism ticket.

Cruise's interest in aliens may have come to a peak, as his sci-fi thriller Oblivion will be released to theaters on April 19.

In Oblivion, Cruise stars as a veteran assigned to extract Earth's remaining resources after an alien invasion about 60 years earlier.

Cruise started talking about aliens during a panel discussion at Oblivion's Moscow premier.

Virgin Galactic recently began selling tickets for commercial space flights, and several people have already signed up. Some Hollywood space enthusiasts, in addition to Tom Cruise, include Ashton Kutcher, Tom Hanks, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Russell Brand and Kate Winslet.

Although Tom Cruise hasn't yet bought his space travel ticket, he has said it was a childhood dream of his to fly in space.

Cruise said, "Who wouldn't want to do something like that? I'm going to let a couple of other people test it out first but it would be great. I was always hoping when I was a kid that we would be traveling to different planets by now."

Cruise has said that is he does get the chance to travel into space, he hopes that his visit ends with an alien encounter. He admits that there is no proof that aliens exist, but he doesn't have any proof that they don't.

"I don't think you can actually count it out... It might be a little arrogant to think we were the only ones in all the galaxies throughout the universe - but I've never met one!" Cruise said.

Although many people agree that it is arrogant to dismiss the possibility of life on other planets, Cruise's comments are significant since Cruise is a well-known Scientologist. One of the church's core beliefs is that 75 million years ago, Xenu, dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy," sent billions of frozen souls from space ships from his overpopulated planet to Earth.

The souls were placed at the bases of volcanoes throughout the planet. When the volcanoes erupted, the scattered souls entered human bodies. The lost souls' emotional issues haunt their human hosts, and auditing (spiritual counseling) can purge and resolve the issues.

The Virgin Galactic's first 2-hour mission into space is scheduled for December 2013.
