Jonathan Knight Wasn’t “Hangin’ Tough” Thursday Night: New Kid Quits Mid Show

Jonathan Knight a member of the popular boy band New Kids On The Block quit mid show while the band was preforming in New York.

Reports from those at the concert said that the New Kid did not seem like himself. Reporters noticed Knight hanging at the back of the stage and not getting involved with the crowd during the show.

Emily Longeretta of Hollywoodlife.com was at the concert Thursday night when the New Kid quitmid show. Longeretta noticed Jonathan Knight was acting odd during the performance. Knight seemed "out of it" she posted on the website.

According to Billboard.com Knight seemed "visibly out of sync." He did not join in when the rest of the band got the crowd going by waving their arms in the air. When the men began their choreographed dance moves Knight stood in the back not dancing and texting on his phone.

When fellow NKOTB and Jonathan's brother Jordan Knight announced to the crowd the group would sing "Survive You" off their album "10" Jonathan Knight was not able to finish the song. Knight began to sing then stopped and walked off the stage. The New Kid quit mid show, leaving the rest of the band hanging.

After the New Kid quit mid show the crowd chanted his name but he never came back out. The rest of the New Kids finished the show as best they could.

Jonathan Knight went on Twitter and simply wrote, "I'm sorry." Knight has admitted to having anxiety issues in the past. He left the NKOTB in 1994 when his anxiety about preforming, recording and doing interviews became too much to handle.

The New Kids On The Block were the major boy band of the day in the 80's and 90's. The band stopped preforming in the mid 90's. In 2008 they began touring and recording again. The NKOTB have released 2 albums since getting back together.

NKOTB are still scheduled to go on tour with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men. The Package Tour begins in May and runs through July.
