Kelly Clarkson Announces At Academy Of Country Music Awards That Blake Shelton Will Officiate Her Wedding

Kelly Clarkson revealed that Blake Shelton, country singer and coach on The Voice, will be officiating her wedding.

Kelly Clarkson told ET at the Academy of Country Music Awards that Shelton, who had already agreed to perform some music at her wedding, will have an even bigger role in Clarkson's December wedding.

Shelton will also perform a marriage ceremony for one of his wife Miranda Lambert's band mates.

30-year-old Clarkson is engaged to Blake Shelton's manager, Brandon Blackstock.

Also interesting, Blackstock is the stepson of country music icon Reba McEntire through her relationship with Narvel Blackston.

Clarkson has said that she met her fiancé because he is her "manager's son."

Shelton, although he lost the Entertainer of the Year award to co-host Luke Bryan at Sunday night's award ceremony, is having widespread mainstream success through his various public ventures. Now, his relationship to Kelly Clarkson will again put him in the spotlight.

And it seems that Shelton has had quite an impact on Clarkson's relationship. He reportedly told his friend Blackstock, "I told Brandon, 'Man, you need to grow up and figure out that you need to marry this girl. You need to get your head out of you're a-and ask that girl to marry you.'"

Shelton has been outspoken about everything, even his competition. After losing the ACM award to Bryan, Blake Shelton joked, "It's OK, buddy. Congratulations, buddy. You won entertainer of the Year in your first - and last - year hosting the ACM Awards."

Clarkson got engaged to Blackston at the end of 2012.
