Selena Gomez Performs "Come And Get It" Live On MTV Movie Awards 2013; Red Bindi, Bollywood-Inspired Dance Routine Draw Criticism

Selena Gomez performed her new single "Come And Get It" at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night.

Gomez tweeted about her performance earlier in the night. She wrote on Twitter, "MTV Movie Awards tonight I am so excited and nervous for the performance tonight. #comeandgetit #movieawards"

Kim Kardashian introduced Selena Gomez's performance. Kanye West's girlfriend said of the singer, "Give it up for Selena Gomez!"

Gomez took the stage in a red outfit and started a dance that was reminiscent of Bolllywood routine. Gomez wore a jewel in the middle of her forhead, emerging from smoky shadows in a bright red mesh costume.

Gomez strutted down the center of the stage with her backup dancers, performing an elaborately choreographed dance that did resemble the bellydancing that Britney Spears showed the world in her "Slave 4 U" performance.

Gomez belted the last few lyrics and finished her first live televised performance in years.

Gomez's fans loved her transformation. User Jenny Johnson wrote on Twitter, "Selena Gomez's singing voice is beautiful! She never even gets out of breath! Not once! #MTVMovieAwards." LGMonsterfacts wrote, "Selena Gomez performing her new single at the #mtvmovieawards right now. She looks so cute!!"

However, PopDust didn't appreciate Gomez's Indian-inspired costume, tweeting, "We could go our entire lives without seeing another white girl in a bindi and that would be completely fine. #MTVMovieAwards"

The MTV Movie Awards are being aired on MTV and from 9pm - 11pm EST. They are being hosted by Rebel Wilson, the first woman to host since Sarah Silverman in 2007.
