Woman Discovers Her Husband's Other Wife Through Facebook's 'People You May Know' Section: Her Husband Was Allegedly In A Picture With The Second Wife And A Wedding Cake

A woman made a shocking discovery through Facebook's "People You May Know" section of the social media website - the person she may know was one that her husband knew, because it was his second wife that she did not even know about.

Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist told the Associated Press (AP): "Wife No. 1 went to Wife No. 2's page and saw a picture of her and her husband with a wedding cake."

The original wife, Teri Wyatt-O'Neil, never divorced her husband Alan O'Neil. The two married in 2001, but separated eight years later. O'Neil then went on to change his named to Alan Fulk and apparently remarry.

Now, Fulk has been charged with bigamy.

According to the court records, "An hour later the defendant arrived at [Wife No. 1's] apartment and she asked him several times if they were divorced. The defendant said, 'No, we are still married.'"

The alleged bigamist wanted to keep both wives, but did not know that his first wife knew about the second wife because of the "People you may know" section of Facebook that is located on the sidebar.

When Teri decided to approach her husband about what she found out on Facebook, he allegedly told her he would fix the problem. She decided to notify the police instead.

He has been charged with bigamy and faces up to a year in prison if convicted.

"Facebook is now a place where people discover things about each other they end up reporting to law enforcement," Lindquist said. "Every few years we see one of these bigamy cases, about the only danger he [O'Neill] would pose is marrying a third woman."
