Reese Witherspoon Snubbed By Stevie Nicks, Who Calls Witherspoon "Too Old" To Play Her

Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks previously said Reese Witherspoon would be prefect to play her - but now, at 37, the star is "almost too old" to take the role, according to Nicks.

In the new documentary "In Your Dreams," Stevie Nicks, 64, said Witherspoon would be perfect. But that was two years ago- the doc followed the production process of the 2011 album of the same name. Apparently now, it's too late.

During the doc's premier in Toronto this week, Nicks told ET Canada, "I've already told [Reese] she's almost too old.

"I love her, but she's like, 'I could play your mother.' I'm like 'O.K,'" Nicks said of Witherspoon.

However, it wouldn't be Reese Witherspoon's first rodeo - she's portrayed other celebs successfully before. In the 2005 biopic based on Johnny Cash's life, she played his wife, June Carter. Her performance was so successful she racked up an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a SAG award.

Witherspoon hasn't commented in response, but rumors are circling that she's "hurt" by the comment.

There's no word on who would replace Witherspoon - and, anyway, the idea is purely speculative at this point. A Stevie Nicks biopic might be far down the road - the just-released "In Your Dreams" is already the second documentary about the Landslide singer. The first, 2004's "Destiny Rules", was also about her recording process, this time for Fleetwood Mac's "Say You Will".

Stevie Nicks was surprised the film was made, much less released to the success it has been so far. She said ""I thought a few people would see it and love it and it would go back on the library shelf," she said. "They say good things come to people who wait... I think good things come to people who don't expect anything."
