'Friends' Reunion Rumors Take Over Internet; Fans Beg For Reunion Movie Or Eleventh-Season, Creator Says "No"

Rumors that the popular NBC show Friends would be returning for a an eleventh season have been squashed by the show's creator Marta Kauffman.

There have been many rumors flying around the Internet that the original cast of Friends would be returning for a new season, other said the show that defined a generation would be making its way to the big screen.

The show's creator told E! News that all rumors of a Friends reunion are totally false. "I'm going to clear this up," Kauffman said. "It's not happening."

"Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore," Kauffman told E! News.

Kauffman heard the rumors about the Friends reunion when she and the show's costume designer were out at a bar. Kauffman also told E! she would rather keep people wanting more than risk disappointing long time fans with a movie blunder.

"I'd rather people go, 'Oh, please! Please!' than 'I can't believe you did that. It was horrible," Kauffman said.

The actors that made up the Friends cast are not onboard for a Friends reunion either. They say they couldn't picture how it would be done.

The original Friends cast included, Jennifer Aniston as Rachel, Courteney Cox as Monica, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe, Matt LeBlanc as Joey, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing and David Schwimmer as Ross.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter Jennifer Aniston referred to a Friends reunion. Aniston said, "I can't imagine how you would do it unless you did it years from now. I can't imagine what that would be. It's not normal. Friends is in your living room; Friends is not in a movie theater. It doesn't make sense to me. I think it would be going against its authentic self."

Matthew Perry spoke about why the show is still so popular in an interview with US Weekly.

"I think people just loved it, you know? It was really good writing, really good acting, over a very long period of time, and that's rare. It was just a different era in television. Thirty million people were watching it every week, which you know, is insane. That will probably never happen again."

Members of the Friends cast have come together and supported one another on other projects since the show ended six years ago. Matt LeBlanc is going to appear on Lisa Kudrow's show Web Therapy. Schwimmer and Cox already appeared on the show. Cox also appeared on Perry's NBC show Go On. Jennifer Aniston has appeared in both of Cox's shows Dirt and Cougar Town.
