Nintendo 3DS Zelda Coming By The End Of 2013: Marks Relaunch Of Old-School Video Game

Nintendo announced Wednesday that Zelda will be released on the 3DS system.

During an online presentation, Nintendo made the announcement that the company is currently working on "Zelda."

The video game will be set in the world of the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which was first released for Super Nintendo in 1992. The game will make use of the handheld's 3D abilities, and "allows Link to become a drawing and move along walls," Nintendo said during the conference.

Nintendo will release a new Zelda game during the winter for the holiday season. The name of the game has not been named yet.

"Nintendo 3DS and Wii U continue to evolve into some of the best bets in gaming," Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said in a statement. "We've had an incredible 2013 so far with titles such as Fire Emblem Awakening and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and the rest of 2013 and beyond is even better."

The game is not just a 3D version of the original.

Nintendo also announced that there are more games that haven't been new in decades to gamers.

One of those games that was also announced was EarthBound, which was first released on Super Nintendo in 1995. The game is returning to North America for the first time in almost 20 years. Nintendo did not provide a release date, but promised to launch the game on the Wii U Virtual Console "sometime later this year."
