CNN put the spotlight on the growing number of tourists flying into South Korea to learn K-Pop dances such as EXO's "Love Me Right."
K-Pop dance classes are increasingly becoming available and marketed as attractions for tourists visiting Seoul, the South Korean capital.
The trend is about to boom even more with the recent agreement between the Seoul government and SM Entertainment to organize K-Pop dance classes.
In the segment, CNN discusses what drives the K-Pop dance class trend.
An interview with a Latvian tourist - who flew in to learn dance choreography after being a fan of K-Pop for more than six years - displays the motivation that drives class participants to shell out significant money to learn directly from idol agency choreographers.
One of the dances the foreigners were trying to learn in the featured class was EXO's "Love Me Right."
Seoul's partnership with SM Entertainment to teach regular K-Pop dance classes at SMTown is part of the city's master plan to lure in more tourists at a more frequent basis.
"Korean wave tourists tend to stay longer than other visitors. And they return to South Korea more than other tourists" says Kim Jaeyong, director of tourism business division in Seoul, referring to tourists that visit the country to experience the so-called "Korean wave" or entertainment and popular culture such as K-Pop and Korean dramas.
