Jennifer Aniston Arrives On The Red Carped Premiere With "Cupping" Marks On Her Back

Jennifer Aniston debuted cupping marks on the red carpet for the premiere of Lifetime's Call Me Crazy in Los Angeles yesterday.

The 44-year producer on the project sported a black Dior tuxedo-style bustier with thigh-grazing shorts that showed off her tanned and toned legs.

What was more noticeable than the "Friends" star's enviable figure or hunky fiancé, Justin Theroux, were the poorly concealed circular marks on her back, which is a result of cupping.

Cupping, the ancient Chinese form of alternative medicine, uses glass bulbs filled with heat and is said to remove toxins and ease muscle tension.

Cupping brings fresh blood to the area, so it tends to improve circulation. It also helps open up the chest and benefit the lungs and can even help menstrual and digestive problems. Most commonly, it's used for aches and pains of various types as well as respiratory problems such as coughing and wheezing,

One of the unfortunate side effects, however, is the ghastly red marks it leaves on the skin.

Cupping seems to be all the rage in Hollywood these days. Other stars that use the treatment are Victoria Beckham, David Arquette and Jessica Simpson.

Most nobably, Gweneyth Paltrow has proudly walked the red carpet at a film premier in 2004 with strange circles all over her back that could only be described back then as hickeys.  Paltrow put those rumors explsining to reporters what cupping was.

She went on to rave about the process to Oprah Winfrey during an interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Looks like Aniston is hopping on the same Eastern medicine bandwagon as her colleague. And soon everyone will have big, ugly red marks on their backs.  Aniston is the ultimate celebrity trendsetter. Anyone remember "The Rachel?"
