Dick Van Dyke Suffering From Undiagnosed Neurological Disorder; Symptoms Force Actor To Cancel NYC Appearance

Acting and TV legend Dick Van Dyke was forced to cancel an appearance at New York City's 92nd Street Y after suffering symptoms due to an undiagnosed neurological disorder, ET reports.

A rep for Dick Van Dyke confirmed to ET that the 87-year-old actor canceled his NYC appearance after receiving advice from his doctor. Dick Van Dick was feeling tired and his not-yet diagnosed disorder had been keeping him awake.

Dick Van Dyke will not be making any appearances that require him to travel via airplane. ET reports he is resting at his Malibu California home.

Dick Van Dye is a successful American actor, comedian, and singer. He has won several Emmys and is most famous for starring in the 1963 musical Bye Bye Birdie and hosting the 1961-1966 comedy the Dick Van Dyke Show.

Van Dyke has starred in several other movies, some of which include Mary Poppins, Dick Tracy, and Night at the Museum.

Biography.com says, "Dick Van Dyke was born on December 13, 1925. During his more than 60 years in show business, Van Dyke has enjoyed great success on the stage, in films and on television. The tall, lanky actor is best known for his comedic antics. One of his early influences was Stan Laurel, of the famous comedy duo Laurel and Hardy."

The biography site also says, "On January 27, 2013, at the age of 87, Van Dyke received the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. During his acceptance speech, Van Dyke reminisced about his work over the years as an entertainer and stated that his career has "been full of surprises and a lot of fun."
