Zac Efron Reveals Titanium Plate In Hand Following Injury To Wrist Filming ‘Townies’ With Dave Franco, Seth Rogen

Zac Efron had a titanium plate inserted into his hand following an injury on-set filming his new movie Townies. Efron injured his wrist while shooting a fight scene with co-star Dave Franco, James Franco's younger brother.

Efron opened up about his mysterious injury during a recent appearance on Live with Kelly and Michael. Efron was initially photographed by TMZ wearing a cast on the set of Townies. The High School Musical actor was also wearing bandages on his hand during the MTV Movie Awards. Initial reports claimed that Efron fell while filming, hurting his arm.

On the morning show, Efron explained, "I broke it a couple [of] days ago on set...during filming, it was during a stage fight with Dave Franco. I had to go back to work so I couldn't really wear a cast, so they [the medics] put like a titanium plate in it and a bunch of screws."

"I don't know why I'm telling you this. My hand in theory is back to normal, it just looks really gross," he said.

Zac Efron showed Kelly Ripa and guest host Carrie Ann Inaba his hands - the hand with the titanium plate was significantly larger than the other.

Although Efron's hand is still swollen, the actor assured everyone that it's healing and should return to normal soon.

Townies is being directed by Nicholas Stoller, who also directed Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The film, in addition to Efron and Franco, stars Seth Rogen.

Efron told MTV News about his time on set with Rogen, "I really admire Seth. I think that he is one of my favorite comedic actors of our generation. There really hasn't been a role that I've seen him in that I haven't enjoyed."
