YG Entertainment has fans pulling out their hair in confusion over a new set of teaser images.
On Monday, the Korean entertainment company shared a teaser image hinting to an upcoming release from one of YG's numerous acts. The mysterious "Who's Next?" teaser has many guessing that November will bring a musical release from the K-pop quintet 2NE1.
The latest teaser reads "Who's Next? 11.21 21:00," revealing that YG will announce news or release music on Nov. 21 at 9PM in Seoul.
The use of two ones and the reoccurring idea of 21 appear to hint to new activities from the girl group, according to fans posting on YG Entertainment's official social media accounts in response to the new image.
YG Entertainment has released no statements regarding 2NE1's return to the K-pop scene over a year after member Park Bom went on hiatus from the industry, but last week there were images shared on social media that fans interpreted to mean a 2NE1 comeback is in the works.
Others commenting on YG Entertainment's official Facebook account questioned whether the teaser image hinted to the release of 2NE1 member CL's first English-language album, which has been in the works for some time.
Additionally, some questioned whether the numbers were meant to distract, and the teasers are in fact for Psy, Winner, or iKON, three YG Entertainment acts who will reportedly release new music by the end of the year.
YG Entertainment, one of the biggest music companies in South Korea, has used a series of "Who's Next?" teasers to raise anticipation for upcoming releases.
