"COWARDS" Billboard Sends Message To Boston Bombing Suspects

A billboard in Boston says "cowards" sends a strong message to the suspects of the Marathon bombings on Monday. The billboard reads "COWARDS" for 10 seconds, then switches to  "Pray for Boston". Boston and its suburbs, such as neighboring Cambridge, Somerville, and Watertown, have been on lockdown all day Friday, but thanks to the billboard's message, the voice of the people is being heard loud and clear "shouting out our feelings of anger: Cowards". The electronic billboard is off highway I-93 that cuts through Boston and was set up on Tuesday by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union.

The billboard sits over 10 miles from the site of the Boston Marathon's finish line, where two bombs exploded Monday, killing three and injuring more than 170. But Boston, a notoriously tough city, is banding together in support. Customarily, the billboard is used for union-related messages but that changed on Tuesday.  Mike P.  Monahan, the union's business manager, said "It was Local 103′s way of shouting out our feelings of anger: Cowards."  No members of the union were hurt in the incident, but they're standing with their neighbors in solidarity. Eight-year-old Martin Richard, one of the victims, lived in Dorchester, Mass., where the union is located.

One of the bombing suspects, 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was shot and killed in a police stand off early this morning. His brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, is still at large.  Police say that they believe the surviving bombing suspect is still in Massachusetts because of his ties through the state but they are not sure he is still in Boston.

There may be other messages in support of Boston added to the "Cowards" billboard in the upcoming days.
