Spice Girl Mel B Banned From Hosting “Australia’s Got Talent”

Spice Girl Mel B a.k.a Scary Spice has been banned from hosting "Australia's Got Talent" until her contract with "The X Factor" expires.

The Spice Girl's ban comes after a dispute between networks. While under contract with the "X Factor" on Seven Network Mel B also signed a deal with "Australia's Got Talent" on Channel Nine.

The Seven Network took Scary Spice to court for breach of contract. Originally her "X Factor" contract said that the Mel B could not appear on a rival network until after 2013. The Seven Network won the case and now the Spice Girl is banned from appearing as a judge on "Australia's Got Talent" until 2014.

Various reports say they are uncertain if the banned Spice Girl will still appear on this season of "The X Factor."

According to fashionstyle.com, "The judge, Justice David Hammerschlag, ruled, "Under the agreement, Mel has an obligation to provide her exclusive services to Seven, and Seven is entitled to her performance of this obligation." I see no reason why she should not be ordered to keep her word that she would not work for anyone but Seven in Australia in 2013."

Various reports also say that the Seven Network took the banned Spice Girl to court as a matter of principle. They say had they just let her go it would show employees that their contracts mean nothing and can break contract whenever they please.

Fashionstyle.com also says, "A spokesperson for the Seven Network said, "(The network) welcomes the decision of the court upholding its contract with Mel B and preventing her working for a competitor in breach of contract in 2013."
