Glenn Beck Refuses To Accept Department Of Homeland Security Statement Denying Saudi National Is A Terrorist Suspect: Calls Him A 'Bad Man' [VIDEO]

In the frantic hours that followed the April 15 terrorist bombings at the Boston Marathon that killed three people and injured over 170, there was one detail that stood out to conservative commentator Glenn Beck.

A 20-year-old Saudi Arabian national, who was originally reported to be a "person of interest" by some news outlets before U.S. law enforcement officials revealed he was a witness, not a suspect, is at the center of a massive cover-up, Beck believes.

"We at the Blaze know that this Saudi national is a bad, bad, bad man," Glenn said on his web program just hours after U.S. officials had denied the Saudi national was a suspect.

"This administration is playing an extraordinarily dangerous game...remember also, the Saudi national that was--is about to get on a plane involved in blowing the legs off of American citizens, being held in protective custody or being protected, at least, by our administration. He will be put in protective custody and the plans are to deport him."

The Saudi national goes to college in the Boston area, the Washington Post reports.

The speculation regarding the 20-year-old man on a student visa began when Steve Emerson, a guest on the Fox News program "Hannity," accused the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of preparing to deport a Saudi national "person of interest" in the Boston bombings.

Boston Marathon conspiracy theories relating to the Saudi national, who was hospitalized for the injuries he suffered in the terrorist bombing, soon popped up on Glenn Beck's The Blaze website as well as other conservative sites Breitbart.com and Inforwars.com.

Hours before Glenn went on his tirade, a DHS official strongly denied the Saudi national was involved with the Boston bombing in any way.

"[The Saudi national] is not a suspect, nor is he a person of interest," the official told CNN's Jake Tapper. "He was an individual at the marathon, and therefore, like so many individuals, has been questioned."

"The rumor is one hundred percent false," another DHS official told Buzzfeed Thursday regarding Glenn Beck's speculation about the Saudi national. "One hundred percent false. Just like [the report of] the suspect in custody yesterday."

The official said that the confusion stemmed from a different Saudi man who was, as of last week, in Immigrations and Customs Enforcement custody.

"We do have a Saudi in ICE custody," the official said. "He is not related in any way to the investigation into the bombing. He's not in any way related to this investigation."
