30 Lbs. Of Pot Discovered: Woman Calls Police On Herself For Unknowingly Carrying Marijuana Across Mexican-U.S. Border

A woman called the police on herself to report 30 lbs. of pot she unknowingly was in possession of Friday. The unnamed 33-year-old was driving from Mexico to her job in San Diego Calif. on Friday morning, and according to her story, did not know about the 30 lbs. of pot that she might have been carrying across the border.

When she arrived in San Diego, she was sitting in the parking lot inside her car around 4 a.m., as she was early for work. During this time, two unidentified men allegedly approached her car and began removing packages from undercarriage, according to an NBC News report.

The men appeared to not know she was there, and they drove off when the driver's presence surprised them. From there, she called the police, who discovered 30 pounds of pot divided into six packages attached by heavy-duty magnets to the undercarriage of the vehicle, according to NBC News.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made because it is unclear who put the 30 lbs. of pot underneath the car.

The woman herself said she was confused and didn't have the slightest clue of who put the marijuana there.

Regular border travelers may be a boon to drug smugglers, according to Yahoo News.

Last year, Ciudad Juarez traveled from Mexico to the University of Texas at El Paso. Juarez sated that he was targeted and ferried drugs without his knowledge, he was sentenced to six months in prison.
