Park Jin Young Is Highest Paid Korean Musician In Music Royalties In 2014

Who earned $1.7 million in music royalties last year? That would be musician Park Jin Young or simply JYP, reports The Korea Herald.

The prolific songwriter and producer Park reportedly earned nearly $1.7 million or 2 billion won in music sales royalties, based on data from the Korea Music Copyright Association, and beat out other popular composers, songwriters and musical arrangers.

Composer Jo Yeong Su came in second, while singer-songwriter and indie band Busker Busker member Jang Bum Joon also ranked in the top 10, the latter profiting from the very popular "Cherry Blossom Ending" song that rises to the top of the charts each spring season.

Park has several studio albums under his belt, a few mini albums and is known to be highly involved in composing and producing music for the artists under the label he co-founded JYP Entertainment, one of the top Korean artist management and record labels.

He has reportedly composed and produced over 31 charting singles and 25 albums for various K-Pop acts and groups, including those of Rain and Wonder Girls.

Most recently, Park Jin Young has been focused on preparing the debut of his label's newest girl group TWICE, the members that survived the reality competition show Sixteen in which he himself served as a judge.
