The AP (Associated Press) Tweeted that there were two explosions at White House and that Obama had been injured around 1 PM EDT. Fortunately, it turned out that the official AP twitter account was hacked.

Over 3000 people retweeted the post within five minutes. The AP's account was suspended shortly thereafter. The AP Media Relations Teams' official twitter handle confirmed that the orignial AP tweet was false.@AP_CorpComm tweeted: 

That is a bogus @ap tweet.

The Dow Jones plunged after the tweet came out.

Fox News and CBS have both tweeted that the AP will soon release a statement about its feed being hacked.

For a country already on edge due to recent events in Boston, the event seemed plausible, if grim. Thankfully, all is well in the White House.
