The Rolling Stones Working On Their New Album, Hopes To Promote Disc On Upcoming Tour?

The Rolling Stones are trying to surprise their fans with a new album, as the rock and roll band hinted they would be working in the studios again for a new release.

According to a recent report by The Toronto Sun, guitarist Ronnie Wood revealed that the band already set up a schedule in the studio that they would start work during the holidays and hopefully finish by 2016.

"We'll maybe go in the studio in December and cut a few tracks and see what happens," Wood said in an ABC Radio interview. "We'll take it from there, see how it all goes. One thing at a time."

The band had plans about working on a new The Rolling Stones album but Keith Richards recently revealed in an Entertainment Weekly interview how he initially planned to have the group back in the studio by next year after they finish their South American tour.

"After we do South America in February and March [2016], I'd love to get in the studio in April," Richards explained. "But I know what those guys are like. When they finish a tour, they don't want to do nothing!"

"I'm trying to get the Stones into the studio," he said about the new album from The Rolling Stones. "But I don't quite honestly see it happening this year."

Meanwhile, Mick Jagger also revealed in an Ultimate Classic Rock report how he has a few songs in his mind for the new album of The Rolling Stones.

"I've got a lot of new songs, and songs I've written over the last couple of years," Jagger said, describing the new Rolling Stones album. "I've done really good demos for all of them, which I would love to record. I'd love to record a Stones album."

Although nothing is set in stone for now, the new album from The Rolling Stones is expected to arrive by late 2016 or 2017.
