Linkin Park New Album On Its Way; Chester Bennington Has Eyes All Set For Band After Leaving STP

A new Linkin Park album is on its way and fans are excited to hear what the band has in store for their upcoming record, just a year since the group released their latest disc.

According to a report by Empty Lighthouse Magazine, Mike Shinoda that they have plans on releasing a new record once the band finishes with their tour.

"All of the shows that we've been doing have been really really fun," Shinoda said of the new Linkin Park album. "This is our last tour on this cycle and then we'll get back and get focused on the next Linkin Park record. And we're looking a next year sometime."

Meanwhile, Chester Bennington revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone how he decided to leave Stone Temple Pilots after a few years with the band to have all his focus on Linkin Park, as the group is set to release a new album after their tour.

"The last few years have been an amazing experience," Bennington said. "I got to create and perform with one of the greatest rock bands of our generation, that had so much influence on me growing up. With the amount of time STP deserves, in addition to being in Linkin Park, and with the needs of my family, one of them always seems to fall short."

"And in all fairness to my bandmates in Linkin Park, as well as to myself and to my family, I'm going to focus solely on Linkin Park so I can contribute 100 percent. It's been an amazing experience and a dream come true, and I look forward to the future of both STP and Linkin Park."

Although there are no official reports for a new album from Linkin Park as of now, the group is expected to have its release by 2017.
