JYJ member Kim Junsu is no longer facing a lawsuit after the prosecutor found that he was falsely accused of non-payment by two construction companies that worked on his Toscana Hotel project in Jeju Island, reports Allkpop.
Junsu's lawyer says the case was dropped after it was determined that the idol not only paid all the fees to the construction companies related to building the luxury resort, but he even overpaid by nearly US$7 million.
"Regarding the civil case that is still left, the Toscana Hotel evaluated that the accuser received their construction fee, and even received an excess payment of 8 billion KRW (around $6.8 million U.S. dollars)," Junsu's lawyer said.
"The constructor unfairly embezzled the construction fee, and we will bring up a strong, legal counterclaim," the lawyer added, suggesting that Junsu's side will file a case against the construction companies for their alleged misdeeds.
The legal issues surrounding Toscana Hotel may have marred Junsu's reputation online since the issue came to light, but it has not stopped him from pushing on with his Asian tour.
Junsu kicked off his fourth Asian tour in Yokohama, Japan on October 25 which drew in around 20,000 fans. The idol also plans to continue to performing well into his 30s. During a recent interview with fashion magazine @star1, he said that "age 30 is just the beginning for men" when asked how JYJ will be different when his two other members, Jaejoong and Yoochu, return from the army.
