'Heavy Object' Anime Opening Theme To Be Performed By All Off Japanese Band

Today, Warner Home Entertainment announced that the new "Heavy Object" anime opening theme will be performed by Japanese band All Off. The band made their major debut with the previous "Heavy Object" opening theme "One More Chance." The new "Heavy Object" anime ending theme will be performed by voice actress Yuka Iguchi.

Crunchyroll reports that All Off originally began as a four member rock band started by high school mates. After undergoing member changes, the group was able to secure a professional contract with Warner Entertainment Japan and released their first single on Nov. 4. Their second single is planned for release on February 10, 2016.

The "Heavy Object" anime series premiered on Oct. 2 and is currently being streamed to fans outside of Japan by Funimation. The series is based on a light novel series by Kazuma Kamachi. The series is directed by Takashi Watanabe with series composition by Hiroyuki Yoshino. J.C. Staff is handling the animation production.

For those not familiar with the series, Funimation describes the "Heavy Object" anime as follows:

"In the future, warfare has been revolutionized by the invention of mechanical weapons called 'Objects.' These Objects are overwhelmingly powerful, rendering traditional weapons like guns, tanks and fighter jets completely useless.

It goes on:

"Qwenthur is an un-athletic, but smart soldier who aims to work as an Object mechanic. Stationed at an Alaskan Object base, he meets Milinda, a stoic but beautiful Elite Soldier who pilots her own Object. As they learn to support each other in battle, Qwenthur begins to uncover the grim secret behind the Heavy Objects."
