Missing Student Body: Unidentified Body Found In Providence River May Be Missing Brown University Student Sunil Tripathi

A body pulled out of the Providence River on Tuesday could possibly belong to the Brown University student Sunil Tripathi, who has been missing since March 15.

Sunil Tripathi has been missing since mid-March; his body may have been discovered Tuesday floating in the Providence River. Tripathi was reported missing by his girlfriend. Family members that spoke with various news agencies suspected foul play.

When the police searched Tripathi's room they found that nothing was missing except his glasses and a wool cap. Family members say that Tripathi was a good kid, but a little troubled.

The troubled Tripathi had taken a leave of absence from Brown University, but his sister said he was getting back on the right track and planning to re-enroll.

The missing student's older sister Sangeeta Tripathi spoke with the Boston Globe about her brother.  Like many college students, Sunil Tripathi was struggling and in need of a new direction in life.

"He's been struggling a little bit, really wanting to get his life back in order and wanting to stay with his Providence friends. He was working on re-enrolling but wasn't quite there yet," Sangeeta Tripathi told the Boston Globe when her brother first went missing.

The body that might be the missing student was found by the coach of the Brown University rowing team.

Fox News reports, "Providence police Lieutenant Joseph Donnelly says 'it's very, very possible' the body belongs to Tripathi."

Fox News also reports that the yet to be identified body is that of a male between the ages of 20 and 30. They also say the body has only been in the water a few days. This leaves the question: If the body found is Tripathi, where has he been and what has he been doing since March 15?
