Jennifer Lawrence Wanted For "Fifty Shades Of Grey" Role Opposite Alex Pettyfer [VIDEO]

EL James's racy novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, will be adapted into a movie and Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is now the frontrunner to play Anastasia Steele, adding another book trilogy turned into movies to her thriving resume.

British Actor Alex Pettyfer has been chosen to play the part of billionaire sex addict, Christian Grey, following a successful screen test with director Gus Vant Sant.

Though she has yet to officially agree, the production is set on Jen's portrayal of their leading lady after speculation that Emma Watson or Mila Kunis were previously been linked to the role.

Production isn't set to start until spring 2014, so that should give executives plenty of time to convince the Hunger Games star to attach herself to the huge Box Office film.

The flick would be staying true to the book with lots of sex and raunchiness, as the producers are shooting for an NC-17 rating.

Jennifer Lawrence is the hottest actress out there right now after her recent Oscar for Lead Actress in Silver Linings Playbook, and reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen in the second installment of the Hunger Games, Catching Fire.

Jen's the same age as the Anastasia character, and has the similar shy, innocent beauty.

The Fifty Shades trilogy traces the deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey. It is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism.

The trilogy is one of the one of the fastest-selling books series of all time, hitting the 20-million sales mark in the U.S. after just four months.  An estimated 70 million copies were sold nationwide.
