This weekend, one K-pop star is saying goodbye to civilian life for a while as he signs up for his mandatory military service.
On Nov. 30, a representative from Star Empire Entertainment confirmed that ZE:A's Kim Tae Heon (26) will be enlisting as an active duty soldier on Dec. 7.
The rep also said there would be fanfare as Tae Heon wished to enter the military quietly.
The singer did, however, write a warm goodbye letter to his fans on social media.
"After much deliberation I have decided to enlist in the army on Dec. 7," wrote Tae Heon. "I'm sorry to break this to you so suddenly."
"I will return well. Be careful you don't catch a cold, and don't wear your rubber shoes the other way," he added, referencing the Korean expression for a woman who experiences a change of heart during her boyfriend's military service.
Tae Heon will be the second member of ZE:A to enlist. Member Ha Minwoo enlisted on Sept. 15 as an active duty soldier for 21 months.
ZE:A's last promotion together was with the release of their first compilation album Best of on Sept. 18. The album consists of a total of 28 tracks, including the new single "Continue."
