Eva Longoria 'I Was Not Eating'; Desperate Housewives Actress Detailed Battles with Depression To Dr. Oz After Her Divorce With NBA Star Tony Parker

Desperate Housewives actress, Eva Longoria, told Dr. Oz "I was not eating" after her divorce from ex-husband, Tony Parker. Longoria's depression after her split with the Spurs' all star guard, was the main topic of discussion on the popular syndicated CBS show, Dr. Oz, produced by Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions.

Speaking with Dr. Oz, Longoria goes into the months after her breakup and tells the popular television doctor she did not eat, "the time I got the most compliments, because I was so skinny. I was not eating. I was depressed. I was sad. My diet was coffee."

The television star continued about how many compliments she received about her body after breaking up with the 31-year-old San Antonio Spurs guard, "People kept saying, 'You look amazing. Divorce agrees with you. And I was like, 'I don't feel good. I have no energy.' I didn't know I was depressed. I mean, I knew it was a sad moment in my life, but I wouldn't categorize myself as depressed."

She soon realized something was up, so she visited her doctor to get some blood tests done to try and help figure out what was wrong: "[I] was just depleted of every vitamin. He [the doctor] said it's as if somebody took a straw and sucked everything out of your body. 'You don't have any iron and your liver's overacting.' It was like all these things were physically wrong with my body, so I had to saturate with vitamins and kind of get back on this track."

Since the wakeup call from her doctor, the still-single Longoria has adopted a much healthier diet in an attempt to stave off the lingering nutritional problems that came about as a result of her decreased diet.

""I cut out all sugar. Anything that turns into sugar is sugar. I love a soda, I'm not a chocolate candy person, but, I like pasta in anything," Longoria said. "For about three months, I did a really strict no sugar diet, and I had more energy than I've ever had. My palate was different.  Things tasted better."

The 38-year-old actress is best known for playing the character Gabrielle Solis from the popular ABC drama, Desperate Housewives. She was nominated for a Golden Globe and even starred in her first mass-marketed film role when she teamed up with Michael Douglas and 24 alum, Kiefer Sutherland, for the crime thriler "The Sentinel" in 2006.

Longoria filed for divorced from Tony Parker in November of 2010, citing "irreconcilable differences." Longoria later confirmed she'd seen hundreds of text messages from another woman on her husband's phone; that woman latter turned out to be Erin Barry, the ex-wife of NBA basketball player, Brent Barry, and she'd been carrying on an affair with Parker during his marriage to Longoria.

The divorce was finalized in Texas on January 28, 2011.
