Ki Hong Lee Is Proud Of His Korean Name And Being One Of People Magazine's Sexiest Men

Actor Ki Hong Lee, known for his roles in "The Maze Runner" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," had a black-and-white pictorial in the December issue of Dazed & Confused.

The star posed on a rooftop and in front of large windows while appearing somber and contemplative. His wardrobe transitioned from classy combinations, like a fur collar jumper with wool pants and dress shoes, to more casual looks.

During his candid interview, Lee explained the importance of remaining true to yourself while working in Hollywood.

"Being Korean is a part of my identity," he revealed. "I identify as Korean and I don't want to hide it. That's why I kept my name as 'Ki Hong.'

"When I am asked these kinds of questions, I wonder why I would have to change my name or anything else when I am Korean," he continued. "I am proud to be Korean. Both my culture and inheritance. These days, especially, I feel obligated as a Korean actor."

Lee also talked about winning the #4 spot in People Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive list of 2014.

"I thought it was weird," he confided. "Not once did I ever think that I was sexy. At first, I didn't understand and didn't like it. Why would people say that I'm sexy when I'm not? I felt burdened by all the attention that I was receiving."

"However, after talking about it with my friends, I realized that this was a very important issue," he added. "It is rare that People spotlights and introduces Asians. So me being represented in that ranking was a good influence for not only me, but to other Asians as well."
