Gorillaz New Album May Include David Bowie; Record To Come In 2016

The animated band Gorillaz is coming back with a new album and band members Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett confirmed that he is now working on the follow up for his 2010 record "The Fall."

According to a report by DIY Mag, Hewlett revealed their plans for the group and also stated how excited they are working on the new Gorillaz album.

"That's next year," he said. "I'm working on it at the moment, and it's going very well. I'm very excited. I don't want to say too much about it, but I'm at that phase of experimentation. What I try not to do when I'm working in this creative period, the cooking of the mess, is go to other peoples' exhibitions and look at other peoples' work. I close my eyes, and don't want to know what anyone else is doing. Doing that has kind of ruined the creative process for me in the past, and I don't want to let that happen again."

In addition to that, Albarn claimed in a previous interview with NME how they are preparing for the upcoming release, claiming how he missed the life of being in the studio all day working for the disc.

"I'd love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week," he explained, as he prepares for the new Gorillaz album.

Meanwhile, another report from NME revealed that the group consisting of Noodle, Murdoc, 2D and Russell, could potentially have the chance to collaborate with David Bowie on their next release.

Visual designer Jamie Hewlett revealed in his Instagram post a photo of an early 1970s David Bowie, animated to look like a part of the cartoon band.

This is signaling a potential collaboration of David Bowie with the Gorillaz for their new album.
