NBA Player Death Threats: Patrick Beverly Of The Houston Rockets Allegedly Receives Death-Threat Tweets From Oklahoma City Thunder Ball-Boy After Causing Injury To Russell Westbrook

NBA player death threats: Houston Rockets point guard Patrick Beverly allegedly received a death threat Saturday via Twitter from one of the Oklahoma City Thunder ball-boys.

Beverly was the player involved with the injury that has sidelined OKC star Russell Westbrook in game two of the best-of-seven series. After the injury, the Thunder ball-boy allegedly sent the NBA player death threats on Twitter.

The yet named ball-boy tweeted first @MitchellBrwn and said: "Patrick Beverly (sic), I'm coming to kill you."

He then followed with allegedly more NBA player death threats when he tweeted directly at Beverly.

"@pavbev21 I'm coming to kill you," the ball-boy tweeted.

Police are currently investigating the matter, according to ESPN.

When Westbrook passed half-court in game two, he was pulling up to call a timeout, which is a standard way for teams to call a timeout, so they have their next possession across half-court. This way, the team can maybe run a play out of the timeout.

As Westbrook went to call the timeout, Beverly dove in, attempting to steal the ball. In the process, he took down Westbrook because he clipped his knee. Westbrook tore his lateral meniscus in his left knee, thus causing him to miss the rest of the playoffs.

Beverly is now in the midst of the NBA player death threats on Twitter.

As the tweets were deleted later on, the Twitter user apologized for the content and said his account had been hacked.

Oklahoma City released a statement regarding the situation saying the organization does "not condone his comments. He works game nights on a voluntary basis and the matter will be handled internally."
