Former EXO Member Luhan To Break From Chinese Promotions To Look After His Health

Luhan, a Chinese entertainer who rose to fame as a member of the K-pop boy band EXO, announced on Monday that he will temporarily halt his career in China.

Luhan's agency, Luhan Studio, revealed the celebrity's break from the industry through a post on its official Weibo page, alerting fans to Luhan's ongoing health issues. The announcement cancelled upcoming events, including a fan meeting.

"Luhan's health has worsened and he has been advices to get complete rest," wrote the post, according to the K-Pop Herald. "After an urgent discussion with the staff, we decided to cancel his upcoming fan meeting and an event which has slated to be held in Shanghai."

Luhan previously took a temporary leave from EXO in 2014 due to his health. Fans had become concerned about the singer's health after spotting him at a hospital in China. His break turned into a permanent hiatus from EXO when Luhan left the group permanently a few weeks later.

EXO's agency, SM Entertainment, and Luhan are currently amidst intense legal proceedings.

Luhan filed a contract nullification lawsuit against SM Entertainment, citing unfair treatment of EXO's Chinese members and several other issues, while SM Entertainment has sued Luhan for continuing his career in China while still under contract.

Since leaving EXO, Luhan has made a career for himself in China as a singer-actor.
