The NBA trade rumors for Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris has been very lively as the troubled forward is still not happy with the management.
According to Yahoo Sports Adrian Wojnarowski, the New Orleans Pelicans are the frontrunners to land the disgruntled forward and they see him as someone who can start alongside Anthony Davis.
"The New Orleans Pelicans have emerged as a suitor with interest in acquiring disgruntled Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris, league sources told Yahoo Sports," Wojnarowski wrote.
However, Morris must clear his name first as he is still currently facing charges of felony which prevents more team to join the bidding wars.
"The Suns and Pelicans have had preliminary contact about a potential trade, but Morris' pending felony aggravated assault charges remain a possible obstacle for virtually every team interested in making a deal, sources told Yahoo. Nevertheless, the Pelicans have significant interest in pairing Morris on a frontline with Anthony Davis."
The Pelicans is not the only teams that are interested in his services as another struggling team, the Houston Rockets, are willing to part ways with forward Terrence Jones according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein.
"Sources told ESPN.com the Rockets are in the market for roster upgrades in the wake of their disappointing 10-11 start and have Morris on their list of targets, amid a growing belief around the league that the Suns are indeed prepared to finally move Morris," he wrote.
"The [Phoenix] Suns initially rebuffed Morris' summer-long quest to be dealt, with both sides pledging to try to find common ground at the start of training camp. But Morris received a DNP-Coach's Decision on Sunday, when the Suns lost 95-93 in Memphis, which will undoubtedly signal to interested teams that Morris can be had."
