An intruder killed 9-year-old Leila Fowler Saturday afternoon in her California home. The 9-year-old's big brother (12) found the girl with multiple stab wounds. The kids' parents were at a public event when their 9-year-old was stabbed.

Reports say the parents are not suspects and that the girl's brother saw a man leaving the house before finding his sister. The 9-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Calaveras County Sheriff's office released a statement describing the intruder as a, "White or Hispanic male approx six foot tall, muscular build, last seen wearing a black long sleeved shirt and blue pants. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous."

The statement goes on to say that the investigation into the stabbing death of a 9-year-old California girl is still on going. Police are still conducting interviews and they do not have a suspect in custody.

UPI.com reports that the police are questioning the girl's brother because he was the last person with the victim, they also say the boy is not a suspect.

UPI also reports that a search of the Fowler home turned up a "substantial amount of evidence.," but the police did not give any further information.
