Over the past 24 hours some interesting changes have taken place in our end of the year Best of K-Pop Awards Polls but one has to ask, are these changes permanent or could there be more upsets before the polls close next week?
The biggest surprise comes in the category of "Best K-Pop Group" as with 31.73% of the votes GOT7 overtakes TVXQ, who comes in at 31.42%, to claim the #1 position. With a mere 0.31% separating first and second, there's no guarantee this upset will be the last of its kind as competition within the Top Three is tough. Coming in with 20.63% of the votes 2PM holds onto third while BTS, with 7.18%, and SHINee, with 1.82%, seem to be settling comfortably into fourth and fifth.
In another interesting move, VIXX jumps up to sixth with 0.91% of the votes, knocking former sixth place holder, CNBLUE, down to eighth. With 0.83% of the votes, Big Bang remains in seventh however, with 0.8% of the votes going to CNBLUE, there's no guarantee either of these groups will remain where they are.
In another surprising move, FT Island moves up one place to claim ninth with 0.76% of the votes while, with 0.75% of the votes, INFINITE drops to tenth.
While changes in the other categories weren't quite as drastic as those vying for the title of "Best Group"the category of "Best K-Pop Song of the Year" did see a bit of change within the Top Ten.
2PM's "My House" continues to come out on top with 37.96% of the votes while BTS' "I Need U" holds steady in second with 19.19% and GOT7's "Just Right" holds onto third with 17.64%. Super Junior's "Magic" seems to be comfortably settled in fourth with 6.56% of the votes while SHINee's "View" settles into fifth with 3.67%.
INFINITE's "Bad" holds onto sixth with 1.82% of the votes, EXO's "Love Me Right" does the same with seventh, holding steady with 1.68% but with 1.61% of the votes going to Big Bang's "Bang Bang Bang" there's no tell where any of these songs will rank once the polls close next week. Closing the gap between ninth and tenth, VIXX's "Love Equation" and Jung Yong Hwa's "One Fine Day" are currently tied with 1.46% of the votes.
In the cateogry of "Best K-Pop Rookie Group" TWICE remains firmly planted in first with 39.41% of the votes while SEVENTEEN holds steady in second with 19.29% and DAY6 remains in third with 17.48%.
With 6.74% of the votes, Monsta X keeps a tight grip on fourth while iKON keeps hold of fifth with 5.08% and UP10TION remains in sixth with 4.69%. N.Flying comes in seventh with 2.75% of the votes while G-Friend, with 2.38% of the votes, comes in eighth. Oh My Girl remains in ninth with 1.16% of the votes while CLC, with 1.01% of the votes, rounds out the Top Ten.
In the category of "Best K-Pop Artist" TVXQ's U-Know Yunho continues to come in first with 27.6% of the votes while band-mate Max Changmin keeps hold of second with 10.92% and 2PM's Nickhun remains in third with 9.75% of the votes.
GOT7's BamBam holds steady in fourth with 6.63% of the votes while 2PM's Wooyoung seems to be well settled in fifth with 5.65%. GOT7's Jackson keeps hold of sixth with 4.62% of the votes while 2PM's Junho brings in 4.31% to hold onto seventh. Claiming six of the Top Ten positions as their own, 2PM's Taecyeon, Jun.K and Chansung claim the final three spots with 3.25%, 3.15% and 2.56% of the votes, respectively.
