EXO's Kai stunned fans as he broke down in tears during his showcase for the new solo album "Wait On Me."
The event, held at the Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul on Monday, was held to celebrate his new solo album after he was recently discharged from the military. During the showcase, Kai delivered a thank you speech to fans just performing his final song for the night when he suddenly turned away from the audience and appeared to cry uncontrollably.
Kai asked for a moment of silence to compose himself, visibly overwhelmed by the occasion. He explained to fans that the reality of his comeback only truly hit him in that moment.
"It's because things didn't feel real until now. And everyone must've been tired coming since it's a Monday. To those who came down... Wait, can you guys be quiet for a moment? I can't..." he said.
"To those who came down, let me show you guys the MV for 'Wait On Me' first, before performing the last song. Get home safe after, and remember that we'll keep getting to meet from now on. Everyone, I always love you! Thank you, really," Kai added.

The showcase marked Kai's return to the stage after a two-year hiatus, following his military discharge in February 2025. "Wait On Me" is his fourth solo mini album. The album also features the pre-release single "Adult Swim," as well as tracks like "Walls Don't Talk," "Pressure," "Ridin'," "Off and Away," and "Flight to Paris." Kai described the album as a reflection of his growth and gratitude.
Kai is set to go on a solo tour across Asia, starting with two concerts in Seoul in May. The shows will continue in cities like Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Jakarta, Singapore, and more. Kai said he hopes the tour will be an opportunity to give back to fans who have waited for him.
