Weekly K-Pop News Top 3: EXO Announce North American Tour, Oh My Girl Detained At LAX, Big Bang Song Plagarized

Here's our recap of the biggest news in K-pop this past week:

Japanese Band Allegedly Plagiarizes Big Bang

A Japanese act, ISH-ONE, came under fire earlier this week after a variety of similarities between their latest song, "Mr. Problem," and "Good Boy," a 2014 release from Big Bang duo, G-Dragon and Taeyang. The two songs resembled one another in numerous ways, and ISH-ONE's music video had scenes that were comparable to those of the music video for "Good Boy."

ISH-ONE denied the plagiarism accusations, but claimed that they "like Big Bang."

Oh My Girl Turns Around At LAX After Being Detained

K-pop rookie girl group Oh My Girl was on their way to the United States to prepare for an upcoming album when the multi-member girl group was halted at American customs at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX.) After upwards of seven hours of being detained and around 10 hours of being in the airport, the girl group's management decided to turn Oh My Girl around and the whole team returned to South Korea.

After initial concerns that LAX security believed Oh My Girl was involved in human trafficking, it appears that there visa issues led to the lengthy detainment.

EXO To Head To North America

The K-pop boy band EXO will bring their EXO'luXion tour to the United States and Canada for the first time in 2016. In February, the nine-member idol group will perform in five cities, including New York City, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Vancouver.

This is the first time that EXO will bring their solo tour to North America, and the first time in several years that the group is coming to the continent. Tickets are not yet on sale.
