Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" may be surprised and think that Nina Dobrev was back for the latest season of the TV series. The latest news revealed a new character will be coming into the show next year and she has quite a resemblance to the former Elena Gilbert actress, some would think they were twins.
According to a report on TV Line, the hiring of Leslie-Ann Huff and her resemblance was just a coincidence and was in no way connected to the former Elena Gilbert actress' exit.
"That's definitely just a coincidence," executive producer Caroline Dries explained. "We looked at a lot of actors, and I was like, 'I think she looks exactly like Nina.' I was convinced otherwise."
"I actually haven't met her yet in person, though, and everyone says she doesn't look like her in person," Dries further said. "She's a great actress, and she's perfect for the role... We'll get to see her present-day story and then everything will click when you see her in the future."
Latest news and rumors have been swirling that Nina Dobrev's exit on "The Vampire Diairies" has put the show in apparent jeopardy when it came to ratings. According to reports, the recent time slot change for the show from Thursday to Friday night starting next month may be an indication that it might seemingly be on the last stretch of its TV life.
In the latest summary of renewed shows on The Hollywood Reporter, the vampire TV series has yet to be included.
As reported by Celeb Dirty Laundry, meanwhile, the latest news about the ratings of "The Vampire Diaries" showed that the numbers for the series has yet to pick up. Rumors have even surfaced that Nina Dobrev has gotten apparently angry at Ian Somerhalder for using her name to lure fans to come back and watch the show.
