Ponytail Stunt Leaves Nath Roy Dead: Zip-lining across RIver In India Attempting To Beat Record[VIDEO OF STUNT]

While trying to beat his own world record for zip-lining, police officer Sailendra Nath Roy, 49, died tragically in front of an audience while performing a stunt that had him zip line across a river attached to his ponytail.

After making it half way across the river, the stunt left him tangled in the wires and he could no longer propel himself forward.  Roy panicked, inducing massive cardiac arrest while dangling 600 feet in the air in front of hundreds of onlookers.

He was hanging in the air for 25 minutes fighting for his life. He tried his best to free himself from the tangle.  There was no quick way to get help and after 45 minutes he was brought down from the wire unconscious and lifeless. He was brought into the hospital, although he had already died from a massive heart attack.

Dr. AK Saha, Resident Doctor at the hospital said, "He was brought dead into the emergency ward. He was already dead when he was admitted to the hospital. We have sent his body for post-mortem. The official reports are not yet out, but we believe it is due to a heart attack. He must have had a cardiac arrest."

Roy was trying to cross the Teesta River, located in Darjeeling, nearly 600 feet in the air on a zip-line which was attached to his shoulder length ponytail. It was performed in an effort to break his own Guinness world record of zip-lining by a ponytail, this time trying to cover more distance.

Roy achieved the Guinness World Record after covering 271 feet on a zip-line while attached by his hair in 2011 in Rajasthan, India. He also used his hair to drag a train on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.

The gruesome tragedy took place in front of hundreds of viewers, most of them children who will not forget the frightening image of a man slowly dying while hanging in the air completely helpless.

Among the onlookers was Roy's brother, whom says he is proud of his bravery.

Watch the video of the deadly stunt but beware...it's pretty upsetting.
