Beatles Record Broken By Scottish Artist Emeli Sande's Debut Album "Our Version Of Events"

The Beatles 50-year record for debut album with the most weeks on the British Top 10 charts has been broken. Scottish singer Emeli Sande''s debut album "Our Version of Events" has spent a record 63 weeks at the top of the charts.

The Beatles' now broken record was set in 1963 with their debut album "Please, Please Me."

Emeli Sande' is making a promising start to her career. Her album not only broke a record set by the Beatles, but it also won her an album of the year award at the Brit Awards.

Sande' told Reuters TV, "It feels quite surreal to even have your name mentioned in the same sentence as The Beatles."

"For a record to stay there for so long it means that people have connected with it, so that's how I'm enjoying celebrating this record," Sande' added.

"Our Version of Events" was released in February 2012 and launched the Scottish singer's career. The sexy Scot preformed at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympic games.

Sande''s album broke a Beatles record and had three number one singles. "Read All About It," "Next to Me" and "Beneath Your Beautiful," all came off her record-breaking album.

Newsmax.com says the Scottish singer's album is 46th on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Sande' is in the US now promoting her album and is looking to make a name for herself across the pond.

"I'm really excited about taking music over to the States because it's a brand new challenge," Newsmax.com reports Sande' as saying.

"There's different formats over there so you have to understand the market, the people, you really have to take into account how massive the place is... It's a brand new adventure and it's chapter two of this whole big thing," she added.

Emeli Sande' is a woman of many talents. Before beginning her music career, the 26-year-old was a promising medical student. She tells newsmax.com that she keeping thinking about going back to medical school. She says she missing the science and learning, but if she went back now she would miss music too much.

Emeli Sande' hopes to begin working on a second album soon.
