Police Search For Michigan Woman Kidnapped At Gas Station

The police in Michigan believe 25-year-old Jessica Heeringa was kidnapped at the gas station where she worked as a cashier on Friday night.

Heeringa was supposed to close the gas station at 11:30. At 11:15 the police received a phone call saying that the station was left empty, according to CNN.

"This was an abduction, not just a missing person," Chief Daniel Shaw told CNN affiliate WOOD-TV.

Police say that the evidence proves the woman was kidnapped from the gas station.

"There was nothing disturbed inside the store. There was no sign of a struggle or a robbery had occurred," Shaw told WOOD-TV.

Reports say that Heeringa's car and purse were found at the gas station. Store cameras and receipts show that the kidnapped woman last helped a customer at 10:50pm.

CNN reports Shaw as saying, "Between the time that last purchase was made and the time that the customers came in and found the store empty is when Jessica was abducted."

Shaw adds, "We have spoken with the person who made the purchase there and cleared them of any wrong. And unfortunately, they didn't see anything that would lead them to believe there was something going on at the store that was leading to that abduction."

Heeringa's mother believes that a former customer may have abducted her daughter. She told WZZM that her daughter is, "very helpful, that's why I think he lured her out of the gas station. He knew there wasn't security cameras."

The Heeringa family and Jessica's friends have started a Facebook page asking for help in finding the kidnapped woman. According to CNN, the FBI has also been called in to help find the kidnapped Jessica Heeringa.
