J.K. Rowling, Peter Jackson 'Doctor Who' Season 10 Rumors Ignite Thanks To Steven Moffat!

With the "Doctor Who" 2015 Christmas special nearly upon us, executive producer Steven Moffat is already teasing us about Season 10.

At the latest advance screening of the Christmas special, titled "The Husbands of River Song, Moffat confirmed that planning for "Doctor Who" Season 10 has already begun.

"We're already moving [on Series 10]," he said according to Doctor Who TV. "We've had meetings today with two writers who've never written Doctor Who before. If I told you their names, your brain would explode."

Last month, Peter Jackson uploaded a video of himself discussing the longstanding invitation to direct episodes of "Doctor Who," which has not come to fruition so far. Surprisingly, "Doctor Who" actor Peter Capaldi makes an appearance as his on-screen persona, asking the director to sign a contract.

"This was an interesting weekend," said the video caption.

According to Metro, "Doctor Who" executive producer Steven Moffat has attempted to contact Peter Jackson about directing, before, with no response.

"I think his plan is we all go to New Zealand and spend six months making it and our plan is he comes to Cardiff and makes it in 12 days," said Moffat.

"There's that disparity. I'm not quite sure what a movie director, that can do anything he likes, gets out of our budget and our schedule,' said Moffat. 'The skill set required is pretending you're Peter Jackson without a budget."

But Jackson is not the only one who might be collaborating with Moffat on "Doctor Who" Season 10. Whovians are also speculating on popular names such as J.K. Rowling, George R.R. Martin, Nicholas Briggs, among others.

"I would have no problems if one of them was J.K. Rowling," commented PhotonFromOz on Friday. "That lady is brilliant!"
