[VIDEO] Super Drunk Principal Slipping Out Of Handcuffs In Police Car Caught On Video

A "super drunk" principal was caught slipping out of handcuffs, and the video has gone viral. In Novi, Michigan, an elementary school principal was charged under a new "super drunk" city ordinance. She was caught on video slipping out of handcuffs in the back of a police cruiser.

The new "super drunk" charges the principal is facing regards drivers arrested with a blood alcohol content higher than .17 percent - more than twice the legal limit-as more serious.

Kim Warren, 44, was arrested on April 8th in Novi. Police were alerted to the issue after two different people called to report that Ms. Warren's vehicle was swerving and then pulled into the Deerfield Elementary School parking lot.

As Warren goes on a little ride to the station, she slips off the handcuffs. The video shows her handing the handcuffs to the officer. He tells her "You can hang on to them. ... Just don't throw them out the window or anything."

It is "critical the officer properly checks the handcuffs to ensure something like this doesn't happen," David Malloy, Novi Police Chief, said in a statement.

Since Warren's arrest on the "super drunk" charge, she has been placed on an administrative leave rather than returning to her job as principal. "This is an unfortunate set of circumstances and out of character for Ms. Warren.," a letter sent to parents from the Novi Community School Distric said. "Up until this event, Ms. Warren has served the Deerfield Community and our district well."

On Monday, Warren attended a hearing regarding her charges. She was charged under a new policy: a "super drunk" high-blood alcohol content drunken driving ordinance for drivers with a blood alcohol content exceeding .17 percent. If convicted under the "Super Drunk" ordinance, Warren may face up to 180 days in jail.
